Which wins of Walkers at 160lbs tell you he beats Burley at middle? Simple inquiry M .
ps Burley was just155lbs when he beat the then number 10 ranked Moore.

The draw wasn't always a draw. It used to be a Briton victory.

    Yeah, I guess they can.

As for brawlers, I don't think I've seen a better one in the traditional sense of the word, but I also wouldn't class Walker as one of those. I think he's more of a pressure fighter than a brawler, although he's certainly a bit of both. An awesome in-fighter who took full advantage of his T-Rex arms. Kinda like Marciano, although Walker was much more skilled. I really like how Walker would throw some nice, short, compact body shots, then expand with a big shot upstairs. He was also pretty fast, very strong and very tough. Also a good puncher.

I do think there's better than him. Guys like Duran, Armstrong, Saddler, Chavez etc. He among the best in his specific style, but not of all time.

Does he really have many embarrassing nights as a WW?

Spotty record as a teenager, but since when do teenage losses count for anything.

2 DQ losses to Palmer and Nelson.

Shade, Britton and Malone all outpoint him, but all were avenged as a WW champ.

Latzo went on to beat him, but he had previously beaten him himself.

The Dundee loss is a farce that can't really be held against him neither.

His WW resume stands up to scrutiny imo.

I see, Burley by DQ then? Interesting, presumed you'd go for Walker.

A draw with a 35 year old Britain and loses to Latzo, Shade and Malone don't seem bad to you? There's no mental gymnastics to get around them. He lost to all but Britain, who was 35. For someone who gets favoured over some of the best WWs ever, I find that a little troubling.

Burley under 160lbs when he knocked Elmer Ray right out of the ring.

Dekuh weighed 220lbs 8 months earlier when Galento banged him out.He must have spent those 8 months in the feed box, to add 34lbs to his frame ,unless you somehow got "confused," M?

He lost to Britton as well, its only recently that's been classed as a draw.

In fact if you search some old threads on Britton or Walker they'll talk about it being a Britton victory on there.

But no, he avenged them all so I don't find it an issue as he proved he could beat them all.

What his resume does tell us, is he could be inconsistent, but had the beating of pretty much every man he faced, provided they were the same weight as him but not called Harry Greb.

Up until the ko loss to Schmelling he is easily one of the best ever.

Even after that point he still manages to pull out a victory against Rosenbloom.

Actually I suppose it depends on what you class as being over rated.

I think he's a top 10 MW and a top 10 WW. Plus he has a very good LHW resume.

I'd say he's no lower than top 50 ATG.

I wouldn't favour him over every WW that lived but it's certainly no upset if he does beat any WW.

As for Burley I do think he'd beat Charles, but I don't think there's an awful lot in it.
