Burley and Williams split their series right down the middle. They were each other’s match. As for Moore, I don’t think he really hit his best days until about 2-3 years later. At the time Burley beat him he was still a “win some, lose some” type against other top contenders. Eddie Booker beat him even worse than Burley just 3 months prior. Same weight disadvantage and all.
Well this one has distance bout written all over it. Walker went the full route with loads of guys at and around 147 and plenty were certainly lesser fighters than Burley. Despite his immense resume Burley was never stopped in his professional life. At 147 it's a Burley decision for mine. He'd take whatever Walker would land and outslick him for the majority of the rounds.
True, but he was pretty much the definition of a late bloomer. Did his best work in his 30s. Of course, the obvious counter is that he was facing the stiffest opposition of his career in those earlier days. There’s truth to that, too, I’m sure.
