I'm not a big gamer tbh, spend too much time on here.
I just know as a 10 year old in year 6 I used to be the best at Terraria and Minecraft.

Look. I am not selling Walker short. He was a great, great fighter and has become unjustifiably forgotten. In the hypothetical fantasy matches, he is a tough night for anybody. I am certainly not going to ridicule anyone who picks Walker over Steele. Two great fighters. Anything can happen.

But to dismiss Steele is either willful ignorance, or worse, just plain ignorance. He is a Top 5 All Time Great Middleweight. His record is amazing (by the way, I have sources claiming him to have 145 wins). 5 champs beaten along with many other top level performers. Injuries, illness and the death of his beloved manager all created obstacles in his career but he was active and consistent. He doesn't just look good on film; he looks revelatory. Amazing balance, punch selection, speed and power. Of course, fighting out of Seattle, he was never going to get the love that New Jersey based Walker would receive. East Coast Bias is a real thing in football to this day. This is why distance allows perspective. When we look back on Steele's career and accomplishments we actually have the catbird seat now.

Yeah it was in the Asian Trilogy thread the other day. Really quite sad.

Sensational performance Mr. Diamond. You remind me of the great Bobby Fitzcummings. You have the fighting spirit in you. I reckon you drink Modelo.

I would feel bad for him if he weren't so obnoxious. He's a living repository of boxing cliches and stale conventional wisdom. He doesn't deal well with nuance, and he doesn't seem capable of entertaining fresh opinions or original analyses.

I hope to be as great as the legendary Battling Jim Johnson.

Sorry guys i came across the comment while catching up with this thread just now and commented immediately before seeing RD explain in full a page or so later.

That is terrible news. He's in the absolute top tier ever to post here.

Yep. He said he basically won't ever come back. Like it would take him literal years. I hope he reneges. He's so informative and great at reading a bout.

Historically he was never rated anywhere close to Walker as a middleweight. Uplifting Steele to a Walker level status is not in line with historical thought from that time.
