Down to business: 1. Walker was control both inside and outside. Walker. 2. Both came out rather slowly. It was an exchange-filled round otherwise. Even. 3. The fast pace continued. Even. 4. Uneventful. Even. 6. Milligan took a hard right from Walker in this round. Walker. 7. The fight was a good fight up to this point, but it was in the 7th that it turned into a thriller. @George Crowcroft, we were right about this. Milligan went down from a right hand. As soon as Milligan got up, Walker pounced on him and dropped him a second time. Milligan again beat the count, but this time fought back with a furious rally, actually gaining ground in the process. It was one of the best 7th rounds I could recall seeing. Walker. 8. The round began with Milligan on the canvas for the third time. He was up and rallied again, with a great barrage, sending Walker back into the ropes. Shortly after, Walker dropped Milligan for the fourth time. Walker. God knows what action occurred in the 9th. My guess is Milligan was down twice lol. 10. Round 10 began with Milligan again on the canvas. No sooner was he up than he went down again. This time for a 10 count. Verdict: Great fight, esp. from the 7th round on. Definitely see this one.
Started on this one yesterday, I believe. I’ll devote some time to the full thing soon. Great uploads recently, William.
WoW this Milligan is one tough guy. A little wild and off balance but he sure brings is. Walker was much more composed and picked his shots. Very nice.
The thing that has always struck me about this fight is the way Walker creates room for that final left hook by twisting his body way around and getting maximum leverage into it. https://flic.kr/p/2kwNo5q When Milligan hit the canvas he was bleeding from his mouth, nose, and ears. When they roll him over you can see the blood spot he left and after the decision is announced the announcer calls for a doctor. This is also the earliest sound film of a boxing match.
