 The part of his life that the story happens to be centered on doesn't happen to include those fights. Grow the **** up.
Yeah I agree. The movie is based on a book that was written about the hard part in Micky's life. Thats a lot more interesting then making a movie about him training to fight Gatti...sure that fight's pretty interesting but movies are about interesting stories...I've read really good things about this movie on the internet....but the unfortunent thing about this trailer is that it looks like it gives away every plot twist in the movie. Edit: funny enough this trailer actually seemed a lot better the second time I was watched it. Kinda happy about that.
Hollywood should start making a movie about the life and boxing career of Manny Pacquiao. From rags to riches movies will sell and Manny is known worldwide.
It was a rhetorical question Ward never fought anyone out of his weight class and sure as **** didn't fight anyone that looked like a HW
I was kind of wondering that. If i was to choose a couple of fighters to do movies on they would be. Ray Robinson Les Darcy Carlos Monzon Roberto Duran Henry Armstrong They would be good stories with alot of interest.
I can't wait for this movie... I think it would do good since it will not only concentrate in boxing but his personal life and his crazy brother play by Bale who takes his characters real serious. Plus it takes place in my hometown, if you guys have a chance try to search High on Crack Street and see Mickey Wards real brother in it.
Mathew Saad Mohamed and Edison Miranda would be good stories too. Manny Pacquiao obviously. The Peterson brothers. Honestly the list of fighters that have come from the worst possible condition and made something of themselves by shear heart and work ethic is amazing. Hollywood seems to have gotten into the "based on a true story" type football movies. But there are hundreds if not thousands of fighter's stories that are much more compelling/amazing then anything thats ever happened on the grid iron.
The only thing that will be tough for me to get past is having a couple of pretty boys playing Mickey and Dickie (neither of whom was the least bit pretty or dainty) :yep One of those pretty boys is an amazing actor, though (one of the best of his generation) - and the other's pretty damn good for a crossover rapper. This will still be opening-weekend must-see material. :good
In the book it says mike mungin was much heavier than officially announced. Micky weighed 136-1/2, Mungin was announced as 145 but actually in the 150s I think, don't have the book on me for the exact figure.
