Micki Nielsen vs. Mirko Larghetti RBR

Round 8

Larghetti is reeling from the right hook and left cross sequence favored by Nielsen as his siege fortification tactic, but Larghetti is leaning deeply backward to ride the punches and coming immediately forward to pound on Nielsen until he ties up. Larghetti is workmanlike, jabbing his way inside from a tight guard and then breaking ranks to slam away on Nielsen with both hands.

Round 9

Larghetti is sticking to Nielsen, grinding as Nielsen shoves his elbows and forearms into him to pry him off. Larghetti is hooking Nielsen across the side of the neck and upper back and getting in some right hands, and smothering Nielsen, who can't get off comfortably or cleanly without a little more separation between them.

Joey Gamache (Nielsen) vs. Mario Massai (Larghetti) - the former seen earlier tonight as Havnaa's chief 2nd, and the latter perhaps familiar as the head trainer of Emiliano Marsili.

 

Round 10

Nielsen sticking the right jab on target while backing up and moving laterally. Nielsen tries a straight combo while circumnavigating a pace away, then covers his exit with the jab as he steps out. Larghetti is finding it hard to extricate himself from Nielsen's clinches on the inside, both tired. Larghetti is throwing 1-2-1s and 1-2-3s (with the punctuating hook a tad wide but still getting a piece of Nielsen) and backing the Dane up. Not much offense from Nielsen anymore down the stretch in this one, just retreating and parrying or tying up depending on how far away Larghetti is. Constant flurries by Larghetti, using his up-shot jab to set up and fake Nielsen out.
