Micky Theo vs John Fury

Theo - a real fighting man!

 

He wanted the fight win or lose and he made a mug of John Fury

 

After all this time, I'm going to bite - who on earth is Micky Theo?

 

The brave man who called Big John Fury's bluff about being the hardest 50 year old man on earth.

The guy had no boxing background and was willing to share a ring with him - Theo wanted all proceeds to go to Charity.

There are exchanges on youtube and the excuses from Big John ranged from not giving Theo a payday, to not fighting without a vest and then refusing to fight under Queensbury rules in a proper boxing venue.

Somebody even renamed him Big Joan Fury.

John was stood in the ring ready to fight. Why cave in and give him money? Theo loves to flash his material possessions more than he loves to fight. Theo with the clear duck. John really made a fool of that guy.

 

Still a lot more impressive than buying Instagram followers and engagement. Middle-aged blokes with beetroot necks and watery physiques wouldn’t last 30 seconds with John.

 

Right so that's helpful but I knew most of that; just wondered if Theo was some personality I'd never heard of (like the TikTok fighters from a few weeks ago) - so he's just a punter? From Googling he seems to be some kind of car wash owner

 

Do not think there is any question he wasn't great in the ring but his discipline was bareknuckle not boxing which is a completely different structure/format to boxing. His reputation was pretty good amongst unlicensed fighters. Not sure there are many good examples of bare knuckle champions successfully transitioning into boxing they usually get ended in a few rounds and the same can be said in reverse.

 

Mickey only called him out to raise his own profile and 'make a few quid' and John was not prepared to give him the publicity or payday as he is a complete nobody who would not generate the sort of money required to make it worthwhile to a father of a current world heavyweight champion. John however completely exposed him by offering him the fight for free on several occasions (Mickey's commercial worth - zero). Clearly he didn't want it and was only interested in making a few quid win or loose and becoming a minor celebrity. The names John are floating around are household names or boxing legends not a car wash owner from Essex.

One of the only sensible posts in here. People here don’t live in the real world when they expect a Fury to load up Theo’s pockets.

 

Mickey pulled his card. Mickey wanted an arranged, legal fight. Then Big Joanne asked him to turn up at some gypsy stronghold and to keep vests on.

 

Nope. He was in a boxing gym.

John is such an intelligent man. And very, very hard. No wonder @BEATDOWNZ aka Brickedit Bummer can’t appreciate that.
