Judah was too fast and slick in the actual bout which saw Ward switching to southpaw quite a bit. Ward did hurt Judah late. Is Young Micky too much with his left hook or was he too green for a slick southpaw. Can Judah avoid Micky's power. I think Ward gets a late stoppage after being behind on the cards. Thoughts?
Ward was too predictable for Judah, maybe he beats the uninspired current version of Judah, but Ward was never good enough to beat him or stop him.
I don't like Judah but at his best, or even near best, he would have beat any version of Ward... and I'm a huge Ward fan. Sure, Ward always has a chance with that hook to the body but it's a slim chance.
Ward did about as good as he could have done with his career. During the time when he lost 4 in a row ('90-'91) he was fighting with in injured hands. The fighters he lost to were alsa decent fighters... Harold Brazier L12, Charles Murray L12, Tony Martin L10, and Ricky Meyers L10. These guys combined for 121 wins, only 14 losses, 1 draw, and only 2 stoppage losses. Ward didn't throw very many punches in these fights. He was better when he came back in '94. His hands had been surgically repaired. He had better training, and he was simply a better fighter overall.
