who would have won? Ward weighs in around 142, which was probably his best weight, and Gomez weighs in at 147.

i think the weight is too high for ward, but if ward was a natural welterweight then i would bet on ward. gomez could not get the best of jesse feliciano and he (feliciano) was fortunate to escape with a md against a very long in the tooth vince phillips.

Gomez might have been too big for Ward...P4P, Ward is a better fighter, but Gomez has held his own against bigger fighters and I think he could have beaten Ward at 147.
