Middle-of-the-week PPV - Jhonny Gonzalez vs. Jackson Asiku RBR

That's interesting that they have the same wingspan - usually Jhonny has an advantage in that department.

Round 1

Asiku comes forward and jabs once and twice at a time. Gonzalez is moving laterally with his hands held out at arm's length to pick Asiku off, and taking an occasional stutter-step straight back when Asiku charges in. They trade jabs and Gonzalez starts landing his more cleanly as he keeps Asiku spinning in the middle of the ring. Body shot by Gonzalez. Aisku keeps trying to walk him down, and throws two hard left hooks, one high and one low. Both miss. Gonzalez throws a body hook of his own and it glances. Both are defending well. Asiku is feinting with the hook and throwing a lot of jabs. Gonzalez misses a big loaded hook.

Very close round, nicked by Gonzalez. The announcers gave it the other way.

 

Round 2

Asiku has a very busy jab. Gonzalez is slipping away, turning the corner, and hooking. Asiku cuts the ring off and continues to jab in Gonzalez's face. Gonzalez lands a couple of counter right hand & left hook combos and Asiku is on shaky legs! Asiku keeps darting in and out with jabs but is keeping his face covered up and still has a little jiggle in his lead knee. Gonzalez barely misses an uppercut inside. Gonzalez circles away and looks to get set from the outside. Asiku is leaning down and jabbing to the body while Gonzalez rips him with hooks and uppercuts. BIG hook by Asiku set up by some body work has Gonzalez a bit shaky. Gonzalez comes right back and clobbers him with uppercuts and hooks! Great, great round.

Round 3

Brilliant 1-2 to the face by Asiku timed as Gonzalez is circling. Asiku keeps powering forward with straight punches and is doing a better job of keeping squared up to Jhonny's lateral movement. Asiku is very busy, setting the pace and pushing Gonzalez back with the sheer strength of his 1-2 even when it's blocked. Gonzalez throws a hook to the body but Asiku deflects it with his right wrist. Gonzalez gets a moment to breathe and looks a bit confused and uncoordinated, throwing some wild jabs. Asiku then comes back at him and Gonzalez throws a desperate burst of power punches that again stun Asiku! Right hand to the chin by Gonzalez. Great body punches by Asiku with both hands. More 1-2's to the face. Gonzalez lands a nice hook to the body just before the bell.

Round 4

Asiku throws a jab but quickly switches to leading with the right up high. Then he goes back to the jab but keeps it down in the belly area to throw Gonzalez off. Gonzalez takes a left hook while loading up an uppercut. Asiku is just all over him, throwing nonstop. Gonzalez finally grabs. After the break Gonzalez NAILS Asiku with an incredibly hard left hook that has him on ***** St.! GONZALEZ GOES AFTER HIM! MULTIPLE HOOKS! BAYLESS GIVES HIM A COUNT! GONZALEZ RUNS RIGHT BACK UP TO HIM AND KEEPS ON HOOKING! BANG BANG BANG! ASIKU IS DUCKING AND RUNNING! AND HERE COMES ASIKU!!! HEAD BURIED IN GONZALEZ'S CHEST, HE PUTS A DRUMROLL ON JHONNY'S BODY. GONZALEZ AGAIN HURTS HIM AND HAS HIM IN THE CORNER! BIG RIGHT HAND FROM GONZALEZ!!!! HE CHASES ASIKU ACROSS THE RING AND ASIKU SHOVES HIM AWAY WITH HIS LEFT HAND!!!!! WOAH!!!!!!!!!!!!
