instead of repeating the 168 super 6 tourney they should put together a knock out format with 8 fighters. with quater finals, semi finals and and final.
the tournament would consist of: korobov, martinez, pirog, golovkin, lara, lemieux, nakim, and either pavlik, abraham or guerrero.

I think its pretty clear now that Tournaments do not work in professional boxing. Or at least in the formats that have been attempted thus far.

This. But I'd replace Sturm with Kirkland, Sylvester with Lara and Guerrero with Angulo.

    That would be awesome.

Don Kings middleweight tournament worked pretty well, and so has the bantamweight tournament.

Just keep them as elimination instead of that pointbased crap. It works fine in Soccer, not in boxing.

yeah for me the top six are

    korobov
    golovkin
    lemieux
    lara
    pirog
    jacobs

any other 2 after that is fine with me, i like lee but he needs to prove himself in his next fight. convincing win and he's in the mix.

matt korobov should be in there. he would win it!!!

maybe his career has slowed down a bit but he has the most potential.

    Make it 16.

    Lemieux
    Golovkin
    Pirog
    Williams
    Lee
    Macklin
    Barker
    Korobov
    Guerrero
    Lara
    Angulo
    Jacobs
    Geale
    N'Jikam
    Zbik
    McEwan

I wonder if Showtime would be interested in that. 4 round, you lose you are knocked out. I left out Strum, Sylvester and Martinez because there is no way they would enter a tourney like that.

ive seen enough of jacobs to know he is very talented. he was on another planet against pirog. but yeh i like the idea of lee jacobs. would be a close fight.

would be great for boxing but theres more chance of them fighting for free than putting something on that ambitious.
ive always wanted a prizefighter type contest with world class fighters. an all day tourney with four round fights.

Thing is though, all these guys are claiming to want the big fights and have a chance to do it, this would be perfect, whoever comes out of this tournament would be a star. It is completely unrealistic though, I admit that.

Actually how about this for fun
Americas V Europe Ryder Cup style in no particular order

    Americas
    1> Martinez
    2> Williams
    3> Angulo
4> Pavlik (if he can make 160)
    5> Lemeiux
    6> Manfredo Jr
    7> Lopez
    8> Guererro
    9> Kirkland
    10> Chavez Jr

    Europe
    1> Sturm
    2> Pirog
    3> Sylvester
4> AA (if he can make it)
    5> Zbik
    6> Golovkin
    7> Macklin
    8> Lee
    9> Barker
    10> N'kam

So here would be my pick of fights

    1> AA V KP
    2> Pirog V Williams
    3> Sturm V Guerrero
    4> Sylvester V Angulo
    5> Lee V Chavez Jr
    6> Macklin V Kirkland
    7> Barker V Manfredo
    8> N'kamV Williams
    9> Zbik V Lopez
    10> Golovkin V Lemeiux

Now that would be cool. All the USA CANADIAN and Central/ South American networks and all the European tv networks all showing this on one night card betweem US TIME and European time.
Have 5 fights in each continent and maybe split over 2 nights. Keep dreaming I know but if the tv networks got behind it every boxer and promoter would be paid enough to make it worth their while and the tv networks would get the demand. It would be a first and could be the saviour of boxing....:deal

That would be ****ing class Paddy, could be on to something there! The whole national pride thing could get casuals interested and keep them interested with the points system.
