Middleweight Fantasy Tournament – Without the Greats

    Okay...I will try to do a new kind of tournament……
    Only with good or very good Middleweights….

    I decided to exclude the Greats like Hagler, Monzon, Hopkins, Robinson, LaMotta, Tiger, etc…..because we have fantasy matches between these fighters quite a lot here…..and a Tournament with these ATGs will certainly end up with one of them as the winner......Steele is probably the greater fighter of the Tournamant......

    I´m just trying to discuss others MWs….and make an unpredictable tournament.....and the MW division is very very rich.....

    Not sure if you guys will be interested….but Anyway I will try...why not?…it will be nice to see……..
    You will choose the winner and the winner (fighter with the most votes) advances to the next round….

    I have 34 fighters, 18 fights (2 eliminatory fights), and I will put out the matches in individual threads.....No voting yet....I will put the individual threads with the first two fights tomorrow....

    Benton, Graziano and Jackson included in the Tournament.......Pavlik is out ! Benton vs Pavlik would be a mismatch.....

    My comment wasn't made in a derogatory way.

    Many underrate Toney because his light heavyweight stay was a letdown and he was a a lazy fighter with a big mouth.

    Toney is an ATG fighter with an ATG H2H abilty.

    His middleweight record tramps anything someone like Hop done in his 20 defenses.

    Putting Toney in the same bracket with fighters like Briscoe, Pavlik or Tylor is seriously underrating him.

    Okay....but There is Giardello, Steele, Apostoli, Kalambay also in the tournament.....I think is fair to say Toney is as good as these guys......and I think Toney is one of the favorites to win the Tournament anyway.....let´s see, we never know in Classic....

    It is also fair to say that Hopkins too is as good as these fighters but less proven against truly good middleweights;)

    But hey, it's your tournament;)

    We'll see about that.:lol:

    Herol Graham would be a very interesting match up for some fighters.
