Middleweight King's to Pawns in Boxing Landscape

Abraham has a suspected busted eardrum (scene it) but I thought he did ok last night. He started more brightly than he normally does & he won the fight comfortably.

I cant see how he could ever get back to 160 again, AA's back & shoulders are massive (no homo) & he was having trouble making the MW limit years ago. At 168 he struggles against guys with range and/or speed but he's still very tough & a dangerous puncher.

The Froch fight really broke his heart & they are slowly building him back up. I doubt anyone will be able to beat him in Germany, I think he'll beat the winner of Steig/Groves then have a couple more fights before retiring.

Just watched the Pavlik fight & he looked ok against a can, he seems to be in good shape & by all accounts is living the life these days. A few more wins & he'll be back in contention but I cant see him beating the likes of Ward,Dirrell & Bute.

 

Can Pavlik make 160 anymore I wonder?

 

Haven't seen either of the fights yet. Who was more impressive, Kelly or Abe? Are they worth watching?

 

Abraham fight is on boxnation at 3, I enjoyed it but I'm a fan. He looked better than he did in his last fight, the Pole did well to survive esp in the 11th. Hopefully they'll be showing the Masternak fight as well.

Pavlik was impressive vs a can, the fight only lasted just over a round.

 

Abraham frustrated me.

Every time he opened up Wilczewski or seemed to have him hurt he just stood back and did nothing for literally 10-20 seconds+. I think at times he was just too cautious.

Yeah, Pavlik/Abraham is a good fight.

 

Y'know, at 160 I still like Pavlik better. In fact, I think he'd beat Abraham at either weight. All he has to do is use his size, his jab, his infamous double jab and the left hook off it, his heavy hands keep Abe at bay all night long. The fight simply has to happen, been spoke about for so long. It's lost his allure in some ways, but in other ways its a perfect fight that would intrigue people and get people talking again about the winner, so in that sense its a very logical fight.

 

To be honest before last night i thought people were being a little harsh on Arthur Abraham i thought he might of been closing to stopping Andre Dirrell and maybe just had a bad night againts Carl Froch and the lost to Andrew Ward,Well hes undoubtly the no 1 super-middleweight on the planet so it was no disgrace to lose to him but last night i think he was exsposed badly as a fighter whos never going to be a elite super middle and i think if groves chin can last the pace againts abraham then he could lose that fight also. If he was to be a world champion with any sort of lasting reign then it would be a Sven Ottke like reign heavily relying on staying at home and winning with the help from the Judges and Biased German Officals. I thought Piotr was very hard done by i know he like Dirrell was nealry bombed out in the 11th round but i think the wide score of 109-119 was a joke i hope he can go onto win some sort of title in the near future because i think hes a half decent fighter and was also unlucky againts Degale i scored that fight a draw so technically i believe he should still be European Champ at 168.

 

Also im not convinced at all Abraham is 5ft 10 he was at least two inches small ther Piotr and he was at least two inches shorter then degale whos 6ft the same height as groves i thinkl abraham could be made for groves whos very effective at single punching but also doubling up and moving.
