the prize fighter winner. he is fighting a british title eliminator in few days vs rod smith. should he win, he wants blackwell next. what is your opinion of him? does he have a chance vs blackwell and can he even go further?? how does he compare to the top domestic middleweights?? opinions please.
Doubt he would have beaten Dublin middleweight Luke Keeler in prizefighter if not for Keelers hand injury. That said he looks a tidy operator. Definitely domestic level.
yes, tidy is a good way to discribe him. doesnt make many mistakes......hands high, punches short. that said, he is no obvious talent.....neither super fast nor a concussive puncher. yet what strikes me about him is that he is a winner. not only because he is unbeaten, but because he makes nice adjustments during his fights. in other words, he can turn it on when he has to. i think the blackwell fight will be his acid test.
I would need to see him rematcha healthy Keeler. But win lose or draw against a healthy Keeler there is no way he beats Blackwell.....Nick is the best around these days at British/Irish level.
Was it Tom Doran a few years ago that got dropped heavy by Max Maxwell then managed to stop him via dodgy decision and then went missing for a few years?
Nothing 'Irish' about it Avon - Keeler is no slouch and without the hand injury would have probably beaten Doran. Keeler hits hard. :thumbsup
