Cerdan,who is just outside being a great middle imo.
Pender I dont rate.I dont think he had the balls to go down the wire with the Frenchman,and his boxing ,ability,while capable was not of the elite level.Cerdan by U DEC.Pender split fights with Terry Downes,Cerdan would dominate Downes ,imo.

I like Cerdan. Pender got lucky in the scoring against Robinson.

 

Pender might give Cerdan some trouble similar to what Dellanoit did in their first fight by dictating the distance with the jab. But Cerdan I believe would be too much for Pender because I do not think Pender has anything to discourage Cerdan with. Cerdan keeps pressing and punching and gets a 9th round TKO.

Well i don't think Pender was too bad a fighter, he fared not too badly against the top guys of the era, albeit the end of a great one, but i rate Cerdan very highly, and i think his regular type of fight wins him a decision here.

 

Interesting match up never really thought about this match up before, I would favour Cerdan to win a decision.

 

Cerdan has more tools and I feel he is a better fighter.

 

Cerdan was a better boxer and an underrated 1 at that so I'll take him for a UD
