both fighters could be tactical and cagey i see flowers winning this fight by decision

flowers i feel would just be to clever and couter punch his way to a win

A boxing match, this is. It is said that outboxing Flowers was a near impossible task. Giardello we see on film, and is some great ring general with a consistent left hand scoring points.

I'm taking Giardello to the supposed impossible sorry.

I would pick Flowers to win by decision.

    My reasons are:

He was fast enough and busy enough to outpoint Harry Greb.

Basicaly nobody ever beat Flowers convincingly by points. He either got knocked out or lost controvertialy on the score cards.

I would venture to say that with a better chin he would have been darn near unbeatable.

I'm changing my pick, i wanted to keep my post and say Flowers instead of Joey, but i thought people would give me **** because i haven't seen Flowers fight.

Flowers on points. Same post of mine above, just a different winner.

    Just a hunch. Flowers.
I'll take the guy who lost a controversial decision to Walker, and won two controversial dukes against Greb.
It sounds like Flowers with his swarming style, would be difficult to face. you would have to have serious firepower to keep him off of you.

Having a mythical matchup in which one of the fighters has absolutely no film to judge by is utterly ridiculous. Flowers is an ATG based on his credentials, I agree, but I honestly think its ludicrous to pick the man based on OTHER PEOPLE'S OPINIONS.

    Giardello for me.
Flowers gets kudos for losing his title on a debatable decision to Walker, but some forget that in his return with a ring worn Greb ,many felt he lost the fight and title, but got the decision.
Giardello has some losses on his record that should not be there,he was never a dedicated trainer, but when in shape ,he was a hell of a fighter, and ,make no mistake he could hit.Joey beat Tiger and Carter,he had enough on his shots to keep the light punching[slapping] Flowers honest, the boxing abilty to go even steven with him ,and a better chin.
My reservation about Giardello is,quite frankly, I cant remember how effectively he handled south paws.
Still I'm going for Giardello,if only to prove to Manassa that Im not biased against the more modern guys.Joey by Dec.

Or won controversially ,as in the second Greb fight.
