i dont think valdez could of hurt walker enough to take control at any point walker was a relentless come forward fighter this fight would be very tough on both fighters i would go for walker by very close decision but would not be surprised if decision went to valdez

I like Walkers frenetic attack to carry him home by decision.

Bennie Briscoe took some horrific punches in his career - that is until he fought Rodrigo Valdez who knocked him out in their second fight. One of my favourite fights actually, some lethal shots being thrown from both sides.

But yes, Valdez could definitely hurt Walker. And since you bring it up and I think about it, I reckon that's the key to this fight. Valdez being stronger than Walker, able to both take his punches with ease and then fire back even harder, perhaps rocking Walker more than once, sending him back, and basically outfighting him for a decision.

It wouldn't all be slugging, there'd be a fair amount of boxing in there, which would be even for most of the way but vaguely Valdez' for the taking. But yeah, up close, although Walker would get a lot of good work done, it's Valdez who was the meatier fighter at middleweight and he'd get the better of it.

Valdez is underated imo,but whether he would be able to out fight Walker is a moot point,as is the strength issue ,Walker held his own with some capable Heavies and Light heavies.
I go for Walker by split dec ,but not with any degree of certainty.

Yeah, but who's to say Valdez wouldn't have outfought those same light heavyweights?

Valdez is going to find it hard boxing Walker imo, great combos, and so relentless, a great welterweight, but it doesn't matter because he was also a great middleweight who fought even bigger men. Valdez, i like his defence and craftiness, and he is as tough as the toughest of them, it will be a fast paced dogfight mostly, and i think Walker comes out on points.

Walker by UD for me. As mentioned by the other posters choosing Walker, the deciding factor for me is Walker's activity. I think Walker would crowd Valdez not allowing him to get full extension on his punches, once he felt the power of Valdez. Walker wins points for being the effective aggressor.

If he does then shall we put him in with some of the heavyweights Walker beat up?

Can he get the extra point and decision Jack Sharkey for example?

I f he can will Sharkey still beat up Primo Carnera in his next fight or is he too emotionaly crushed?
