I like Zale here.Better body puncher, harder puncher, just as strong if not stronger and every bit as tough if not tougher.

Nothing aside from "harder puncher" in that post was true.

Agreed. The only middleweight comparable to LaMotta in strength and toughness was Dick Tiger.

Zale was a trendemous body puncher but LaMotta too was very consistent with it.

He would likely swarm all over Zale as he did against Marcel Cerdan. I think there's a reason why Zale never gave LaMotta a shot at his title despite LaMotta being the number 1 contender.

la motta wins tough fight i think up until round ten or eleven the fight could well be even with both men tadeing but then la motta just starts to show that little extra toughness to out work zale and win a decision

LaMotta for me, there is no stoppage, a war, i like Jake to just outfight Zale slightly where it counts, on the cards.

heres my pick first of the tournament

I think Zale is the slightly better boxer but Jakes tougher and this fight will be a war. Between Zales skills and Jakes toughness. I think Zales the slightly better body puncher.

So i see Zales skills just being the slight difference as he wins by a point that comes down to the last round.

Irresistible force meets an immoveable object and the immoveable object prevails. Zale hits Lamotta with everything in a war of attrition but Lamotta comes out on top with with a championship round stoppage.

I'll take LaMotta by decision. Not just because of his durability to fight with Zale, but because his jab would cause Zale problems as well. Lamotta by UD

If hes tougher...Then how come Zale avoided the Black Murders row like a scared chicken...while the "less tougher" of the two took on Top Black Greats consistently? It makes no sense. Not to mention Zale took on Rocky Graziano instead of fighting his more dangerous # 1 jake Lamotta.

I like Lamotta in this one. Zales best stuff won't even faze lamotta. Lamotta will be the busier and stronger of the two the whole fight and I see Jake breaking Tony down Late for a rare stoppage. Lamotta brings to the table 3 superhuman strengths....HumanWindmill like Stamina so he would never get tired, Greatest Chin of all Time, Hercules like Strength, none of these Zale can keep up with. Zale will actually find the slick cute like Lamotta difficult to hit with his jab. Overall Zale will be just outworked, and broken down mentally and physically throughout the fight. I can imagine the look on Zale's face when he finally tags lamotta with his sunday punch and it doesnt even Buzz Jake. Zale does not match up well vs Lamotta.

    Lamotta TKO 13 Zale

LaMotta would walk through zale's punches and wear him down with his ferocious body assault for a late stoppage IMO.

Am I the only one who thinks LaMotta is an underrated puncher? Nowadays he would score a load more stoppages, however, if he took the kind of beatings he took then he might be stopped more often by todays standards.

However I doubt there is a MW out there today that would beat him :deal
