LaMotta's a good bodypuncher, he certainly never neglected the body, that's for sure.

Lamotta had the greatest chin of all time. Zale's sunday punch wouldnt even buzz him.

As Far as avoiding the Black Murders Row only Zale or his managment can answer that one.
As far as the rest I disagree. I believe Zale to be the harder puncher, better body puncher and every bit as tough and determined as Jake.Zale had trouble with mover's not guys that stood with him.Yes Jake has a better resume but I like Zale in this fight.

I like Jake here , Zale was a tough man ,with a better punch than Lamotta ,but Jake would keep coming and walk through Zales punches, to take a very hard fought decision, imo.

I dont think Robert realizes Jake would just be able to walk through Zales punches and keep attacking. Zale may have hit harder with one punch, but still not hard enough to floor lamotta. Jake is going to keep attacking and attacking and how many attrition of punches to the head and body can zale take for 15 rounds?

You guys feel about Jake the way I feel about Zale:good
I feel Zale would love this kinda fight with Jake and would beat him over 15.

It's a war of the highest order no doubt. I rate Zale, but what Suzie says makes sense to me.

When we talk about chins and durability, there are some good, some great, like Hagler, Morales, Tiger, Greb, but LaMotta for me is truly the cream of the crop, closely followed by Wayne McCullough, on how proven it was, unreal. I think that's big here.

Great toe to toe action. Zale tries for the knockout & expends alot of energy. He quickly realizes LaMotta isn't going anywhere, too late Zale is spent. As Jake takes over in the late rounds with his nonstop attack. Zale could do little but hang on for the finish. LaMotta UD victory.

I think LaMotta was a little tougher and likely able to survive the best that Zale could throw. LaMotta by decision.

Tough to call. LaMotta was probably stronger and tougher, but Zale in his prime had quicker feet and better all-around skill.

I think Zale uses his speed and skill to win a close, probably split decision.

He fought Nat Bolden about 4 or 5 times, and was serving in the military when LaMotta was on the way up. Unless you can somehow prove that Zale's real motive for enlisting in the military was to "avoid the murderer's row," then this is just unsubstantiated gibberish.

Graziano was rated his #1 mandatory challenger by the NBA, and was the favorite to beat Zale. Once again, you're flagrantly ignoring and/or distorting the facts.

Not suprisingly Zale only went 2-2 vs him.

Before Zale went into the Navy....Ezzard Charles was a top rated contender for his crown. Numerous offers were thrown at Zale to fight Charles, Zale declined. I never said anything about lamotta until 1946. Now zale did decisevley beat # 1 rated George Abrams in 1941(By far Zales most impressive performance and accomplishment) but then he wanted nothing to do with Ezzard.

No. YOU ARE. When Zale came back from the war in 1946, Jake Lamotta and Charley Burley were the Ring Magazine # 1 and # 2 contenders. Graziano was BEHIND them in the RING MAGAZINE ratings.
