Burley points, movement, speed and precision to much for Fitz IMO. Burley gets his chance to truly shine, though seeing as who is involved all the footage is lost.

Burley was never stopped. He was tough too, shipping punches to big punchers. But he was hard to hit clean on the inside and was smart and strong enough to handle 171lb LHW contender and puncher Billy Smith on the inside without getting tagged whils stabbing his way to a decision. Same thing here. Burley is quicker and his unorthodox "sudden" style makes him a man most likely to avoid any lethal counters.

His ultra-conservative approach would most likely be on display here and it would pay dividents.

    Burley wide UD.

Burley Wide UD, far too skilled for Fotz, Fitz won't land much, will get beat to the punch and Burley will punnish him for dropping his hands

BTW how ******ed is this forum picking a basic oldtimer with liittle workrate/speed/defense over the P4P no1 of all time?

Burley was quick, but so was Corbett. I think this fight might look a bit like Louis vs. Conn 1, with Fitz catching up to Burley in the later rounds.

I'll go with Fitz, though I do think Burley had the right type of style and durability to upset.

McGrain and Fleaman dont make a whole forum!

And I think you are being a bit hard on Burley.

I would like to consider what Burley brings to the table that Sugar Ray Cant. I know that Burley considered himself a better fighter than Sugar Ray and i can see Burley having some advantages, this is a toughter fight for Fitz. It should be a good one. I think it is too early to vote, for me, as i havent given Burley enough consideration. Though it is interesting to see some of the Sugar Ray fans take the primitive approach. I think i will wait a while before making a decision.

What???? Robinson went out to Fitz????

And to the above poster, it isn't just McGrain and I that see a difference between generations (although McGrain is far more well versed in the subject than I am) but it seems a certain bunch of individuals throw objectivity out of the window (JimmyShimmy is one) and just go for the older fighters.

    Just my opinion though.

Nah. I'm not against picking 'old-time' fighters in fantasy match-ups, and can appreciate the innovation they showed (and of course there unbelievable toughness) but only if they have a chance.

From what I've seen of Fitz, he just doesn't measure up. Especially not to Burley, whom not only has an impressive resume but backs it up on film (again, with only a small amount available, especially for a 'recent' fighter)

Well it was a disgrace Fitz beating SRR so i'll address the balance here.

I think Fitz' prehistoric technique gets sorted right out here. It should have been vs SRR too. Burley far too skilled for the game and outclassed Fitz.

It doesn't matter. The 'un-objectives' will be here soon and put paid to Burley advancing.
