Could Cerdan unnerve the cool, calm Monzon?

Monzon controls the range with his 1-2 against the shorter Cerdan, I wonder if Cerdan could get to mid range to do some damage, he'll probably have some success but even at mid-range Monzons body punching and uppercut would come into effect. I think Cerdan is an underrated fighter and its a great pity he died when he did, also a pity we never got Cerdan-Robinson or Cerdan-Lamotta 2, if Cerdan had beaten Robinson I'd be giving him a good shot here. But from what I know I expect Monzon to control this 1

Pretty good fight I reckon..but a fight I cannot see Monzon losing. He beats out a pretty comprehensive victory in the end.

Cerdan was a double hard *******, but as mentioned before, I think Monzon was too balanced all around and could control the fight at range. If Cerdan, who is certainly one of the elite inside fighters the division's ever seen, can keep it in close quarters, he's got a chance.

Still, if I had to choose the fighter to win a trilogy, it'd be Monzon.

So, Monzon close but clear UD for me.

I'll have to say Monzon to score just more points with his jab and counters when his man comes in. But i'm not 100% co0nvinced, Cerdan's workrate was high and i for one do see him getting in and unloading.

Monzon on points in a very great fight, might be one of the best action fights of the tournament.

The 5 8in Cerdan would be one of the few willing to pay the price to get inside, slip the jab, and unload against the rangy Argentinian, but Carlos has enough tools to hurt him there as well his hooks to the body were vicious and timed, eventually his counters would sap the Frenchman's strength, and reduce him to sporadic attacks.Monzon by dec.
