Marvin Hagler WSD15 Charley Burley (143-141, 141-143, 143-141) (voted 5-4) The closest fight the ring siders said they had ever seen. Every person in the arena was saying the different man won as the 2 fighters waited nervously for the decision. In the end Hagler just scraped it to the boos of the Burley faithfuls and the cheers of the 'Marvelous' crowd. Burley started well using his cagey style to counter the on rushing Hagler. About 30 seconds before the round was over Burley landed a hard straight right followed by a stiff left hook and dropped Hagler! :shock: The rest of the fight was tit for tat as Hagler became less reckless and more of his usual aggresive counterpunching style and just managed to edge Burley in rounds on good clean shots and lots of them as he over came Burleys crisp but infrequent shots. Carlos Monzon UD15 Tiger Flowers (149-138, 148-139, 145-140) (votes 10-1) In convincing fashion Monzon beat the surprise of the tournament using crisp 1-2s and using hi full height to his advantage. Early on the unorthodox and cagey Flowers proved quite a worthy foe of Monzon confusing him abit with good angles and sharp punches. These rounds were largelly actionless and hard to score hence the varying cards. Around the 5th Monzon started to come into his stride and got to grips with the elusive Flowers and started to land his crisp 1-2s. Flowers was still trying to find angles but just couldnt do it and started to run out of ideas and in the end Monzon comprehensivly out classed him.
