In group A action. local favorite Doug DeWitt gave it his all,trying to take the fight to Georgie Benton. however Benton the crafty veteran is too skilled. piling up points. Benton closes the show and batters Doug in the ninth. which forces the referee to halt the action. In the second bout, The fight of the night.Willie "The Worm" Monroe held off a tough challenge from Mustafa Hamsho. Hamsho pressed from the opening bell, had things going well,until Monroe came on late coring well in the last couple of rounds, just edging the score in his favor. In the final fight, New York's Carmen Basikio pressuring Philly's Curtis Parker. Landing hard blows throughout. Parker was game but his corner finally signaling a surrender in his corner to start the tenth round.
