He's a bit larger than the average Pinoy prospect, and he's a bit small for a welterweight...and he's undeniably raw... Other than these jarring first-sketch impressions, what do people think of this young southpaw puncher? [yt]-UKCAtG1mto[/yt] [yt]LZbg6ug2pWs[/yt] Most recently he outfought Norberto Gonzalez, bullying the Mexican around with a right hook (probably his best weapon, although he favors the powerful but telegraphed left cross). Apparently he is the training partner and BFF of Z Gorres, which is mind-boggling given how different they are in the ring.
Needs some improvement of course (an good experienced trainer can help with that) but he's impressive at a technical standpoint. And I agree with your statement with his left cross. I thought he was being too predictable with it during his fight with Gonzalez.
He's exactly the type that could greatly benefit from someone like Freddie Roach. He and Manny do have a mutual friend in Z...
He's alright, but he needs a lot more seasoning. From the couple fights I've seen him in, it seems like he could develop into a decent TV friendly fighter. Not a 1 punch KO guy, not very polished, but he gives an honest effort. He should sharpen up his skills fighting the Thais and the Koreans and the Japanese. He would not be in such a big disadvantage, when it comes to size/physical dimension against those guys. I like him. Plus, I always liked the ALA gym trunks, it looks good.
Needs to go to the body more, keep his hands up a bit more, and vary up his punches more in general, he's a little too basic. However, his technique looks pretty solid and he does work well off his jab in particular. Have to see him in there with someone decent to get a better handle on him though.
his ass needs to get a better TRAINER if he wants to go anywhere. got to polish up his SKILLS BIGTIME..................
