Veron surprised me here in rd 1, very good movement and defense along with a nice jab which is very difficult to land against a southpaw

Rodriguez seemingly found his range in round 3 and is finally more assertive moving Veron back and landing some short hooks inside.

Veron is outboxing Rodriguez, 2-1 or 3-0, but he is going to have to show great caution and grit to hang with Rodriguez's power, which is tremendous... Veron staggered pretty bad at the end of the 3rd.

    Gentlemen,
I've never seen a dreamer beat a genuine article Mexican in a fight. I think Valdez gets stopped and it could be a beating. Hope it's good while it lasts....but I've seen this movie far too many times.

3-1 Veron... another great round from the b-side, landed some hard body shots and flush counter lefts, clinching smartly to neutralize Rodrgiuez's power.

4-2... Veron won the 5th, but Rodriguez came on strong in the 6th. Looks like the Argentine is starting to tire... would be a shame if he got caught slipping after putting on such a boxing clinic in the early going.

4-3... Elvis landing at will and battering Veron around the ring... Veron out on his feet and ready to go down until he bought some time by (intentionally?) spitting out his mouth piece.

That was a lot harder than expected for Rodriguez. Somewhat needed this early into his career, can't be only fighting guys you can blow out easily.

4-4... **** yeah, great finish from the underdog, who fought his heart out till the final bell in a fight that he was clearly brought in to lose. If there were fans, they'd be on their feet ready to boo the impending robbery. Veron deserves the draw.

Looked at his Boxrec and he's coming off a series of Ls and Ds, never would've guessed it from this performance.

Veron took Ls to McKinson and Selestyuk in fairness and they're both quality boxers. Can't fault him too much for it, he's game though, a good prospect checker.
