I thought Berchelt would be fine moving up and stop killing himself to make 130. But apparently his chin and punch resistance is just gone. The roided and cheating Mother****er Oscar Valdez took the last bit of his chin i guess....

Ah. Ive liked Berchelt as many have. He was a heartthrob on this forum for a while. Clearly done now. That lack of D was always going to unwind him but dang, didnt expect this at all.

It was tough to see Berchelt so gun shy. The punches he did throw looked so poor, I mean it looked like he forgot how to punch. That was unpleasant to see.

I watched a couple of Nakathila fights before this one and learned that the guy has pretty good punching power. I was surprised they chose him to be Berchelt’s first opponent at that weight class even though he’s only fought at LW twice. Watching his fight against Shakur I noticed that Shakur played it safe and stayed just outside of his reach majority of the fight.

Valdez knocked Berchelt’s chin into Cody Garbrandt Land. That thing is toast. Damn shame. He put on great fights but please go do something else before you end up speaking like Meldrick Taylor.

was shocked they chose Naka as his comeback fight after that terrible KO. VERY poor management.

Very terrible it’s common sense that you don’t match your guy against a heavy puncher after he’s been KO’d..

Berchelt was overrated for so long. It’s good to see him exposed. This is the guy people thought would best Loma. That fight would not have been pretty for Berchelt. He needs to hang it up if he wants to live a long life.

Dangerous opponent to pick after a loss no doubt. Nakathila will make for some interesting fights at 130 and 135. I expect him to be a player at those weights.

Yup. Berchelt, while certainly a competent fighter, was always grossly overrated by many on here. The notion that he would have ever beaten Lomachenko at either 130 or 135lbs was always laughable. Loma would have battered and stopped any version of this kid.
