    Round 1

González is weaving in past Yafai's jab and hooking at various planes from the waist to shoulder of Yafai, many of his shots landing around the backside, a few inches from the Brit's spine. Yafai keeps moving left and sticking a jab down into González's face. Yafai slices the jab across the side of the neck as González ducks in trying for more body shots while caging his face between his arms. Yafai turning and lining up straight counters on a decline from the high guard. Several unanswered shots cuffing González on the neck and back of the head. With a dip and spring off his knees, a smiling González begins to explode with hard jabs, climbing rights, and hooks - which causes Yafai to grin and trade in the pocket, landing a hook on González's body.

    10-9 Yafai, extremely close

    Roman Gonzalez UD12 Kal Yafai

One more time for the sweet souvenir: Roman is small. Smaller, slower, older. And there is no cure for it.

Gonzalez has that spring in his step, that jitter bug dup down. Best punch in the first twenty seconds is a Yafai body punch, worrying given bodyshots is Roman's best chance, but it's early, haha. Kal is off quick, and fair play to him. No respect being shown, or no excessive respect. He is looking for all his shots and in the first. Even an uppercut there, never got going though. So Roman has arguably won the battle of the jabs there but lost every other element of the first round war. Roman ends the round well though; thought he took the last minute.

10-9 Yafai. Gonzalez closed well, but Yafai carried most of the round.

I like the fact that the ref doesn't allow Yafai to get away with holding behind the neck and hitting with the free hand, he does it so frequently and it always annoyed me

    R2, 10-9 Roman

    20-19 Roman.

Roman has found the uppercut and it looks like a shot that could cause Yafai all sorts of problems.

OK, so the fight is on. Two is a big round, an early big round. We know they're arguing about the tempo and we know they're arguing about how far back Roman is going. They will want to settle that here. First round was desperately close; i sense the second one won't be. Roman is dipping low HELLO! Hello, Roman just fired in three different combinations in real fluidity, he looked awesome, he looked 2012 for about ten seconds there. Holy **** - that looked like the old days. Roman has his high gaurd, gives ground, nows he's banked the middle minute. Yaf's gumshield out...Roman over the front foot guard up! He is ready to punch, this is gorgeous! Holy ****! He is tanning Yaf right now, no contest, not even, the UD is on! Left hand happy. Woop woop! Class matters maybe.
