If I'm Vargas and somebody sums up my career with "once had to deal with Adrien Broner", I'd probably kill myself.

6-1 for Gonzalez and can't see Yafai able to do much any different. Needs to fight his own fight which he seems unwilling AND unable to do.

    Roman Gonzalez UD12 Kal Yafai

One more time for the sweet souvenir: Roman is small. Smaller, slower, older. And there is no cure for it.

1:Gonzalez has that spring in his step, that jitter bug dup down. Best punch in the first twenty seconds is a Yafai body punch, worrying given bodyshots is Roman's best chance, but it's early, haha. Kal is off quick, and fair play to him. No respect being shown, or no excessive respect. He is looking for all his shots and in the first. Even an uppercut there, never got going though. So Roman has arguably won the battle of the jabs there but lost every other element of the first round war. Roman ends the round well though; thought he took the last minute.

2:OK, so the fight is on. Two is a big round, an early big round. We know they're arguing about the tempo and we know they're arguing about how far back Roman is going. They will want to settle that here. First round was desperately close; i sense the second one won't be. Roman is dipping low HELLO! Hello, Roman just fired in three different combinations in real fluidity, he looked awesome, he looked 2012 for about ten seconds there. Holy **** - that looked like the old days. Roman has his high guard, gives ground, nows he's banked the middle minute. Yaf's gumshield out...Roman over the front foot guard up! He is ready to punch, this is gorgeous! Holy ****! He is tanning Yaf right now, no contest, not even, the UD is on! Left hand happy. Woop woop! Class matters maybe.

3: Yaf will look to move now; Roman will look for the uppercut i bet. Nope, based on the first 20 seconds none of that is happening hahahahah, oh well, there's an uppercut to the body...and another. And another! Roman is landing to the body with impunity, got countered hard, right back to it. RIght back to it with the fish-people. If ROman doesn't get stopped he should win this fight. Yaf ain't powerful enough for this gig. The only other danger is Roman gives it up in 10-12. Yaf works very well in the middle minute. Man they are in close. This is a very good fight! Very, very interesting. On the one hand, Yaf has given Roman nowhere to go - on the other, second time Yaf has spilled the gumshield. Oooo this is close, I fear Yaf is taking this round away you know. It's up for grabs in the last twenty seconds. Two good bodyshots in the last ten seconds gives Roman a very close round for me.

4: Roman opens with that old two-piece. Kal is calling upon hi to remain very active - that's his key. He feels he'll get there. Roman is out-hitting him at the moment though. 70 seconds in, ROman isleading the round. Low blow! Yaf recieves a warning from teh ref at the prompting of Roman. Kal Yafai needs the jab to work. He's narrowed up his shots here - this si a good minue from him. He looks a little quicker suddenly. Roman is faster over 4-9 shots, Kal in one-shot. Oooo a good right hand from Roman, and another, Yaf round the corner with the ook. Roman hurts Yaf in the last twenty seconds with a body-shot and uppercut. Good, good, good. His round. A Nicaraguan round.

5: Kal is banking a lot on the stamina here. He needs late rounds he needs middle rounds. Good left hand work from Kal to open the round! But nobody in the world, for a while there, not even Pac, OUTthrew Roman in fluid. And there's the first clinch. Yaf surrendered there, then right back to it. Hahahaha they swap hooks to the body round the corner, no, you lose that contest, every single time bar nothing. You will never win that contest, ever. Still, Kal is taking these punches well. It's good. He's not rattled yet, he's just losing. So he still has a lot of comeback. Two good punches go in. Good, good body attack Kal, but Jesus, Roman is working hard. He looks like a pure pressure fighter right now. Another one in the bank. If they rob him, i'm banning everyone a-k.

6: **** sake, Gonzalez cut on a clash of heads? How bad, how bad is the question. He looks a tiny bit rattled, just covers up, then a slip, unthinkable. Kal lands some good bodyshots behind that. Elbows up, he pushes Roman back - weak referee, but that's ok, oh wow gorgeous little right hand Gonzalez. No, Kal is getting tanned again, a good first minute, no, he's not winning this round, that is false, Roman is the one at work.

7: Kal starts moving him and Gonzalez immediatly blisters him with a body shot. Here's the history: give ground to Roman, get ****ing destroyed. Fight is over. Break and run, you are done...he comes back though, so ok. Circling, going back, ah working less. That's no good. Roman again. It's easy. It's easy, moonie.
