Trust me, I know who exactly was talking all that dumb ass **** about Mikey after the Spence fight and I told them what was going to happen. But I’m sure none of them remember all their ass talk, that’s how it always happens, lol.
Mikey is getting better accustomed to moving naturally with the extra weight, I expect his speed to increase a little bit more by his next fight. I can also see now that he has the power to hurt just about any welter if he catches him clean.
My only problem with his performance is his lack of urgency, he is too methodical, sometimes you just have to let the leather fly.

His lack of urgency is both a blessing and a curse. It keeps him out of trouble but it also means sometimes he's a sitting duck when he's at the end of his opponent's punching range. Like after he landed that great right hand in the 3rd he let Vargas get those shots in right at the end of the 3rd round and ended up with his back on the ropes. Now I thought he still probably won that round but those late shots by Vargas made it a toss-up round in a round that he was winning pretty clearly before that.

I think there are little things he can do to avoid these bad moments :

    1) more range-finding jabs, and working behind the jab more. he has great one-twos but sometimes he gets a little too predictable with them, a couple of times he loaded up on right hands vs Vargas and was short. other times he landed perfect one-twos, he just needs to work on mixing in more jabs rather than just throwing one-twos over and over again. judges notice this too and just keeping that jab active helps him win more rounds.
    2) more jabs to the body
    3) at certain times he'd do well to learn to cover-up and take a step forward to smother his opponents punches rather than just standing there at range leaving him a sitting duck from opponent incoming shots.
    4) not blocking the head enough or accurately enough. Several times Vargas landed big shots upstairs, some of these times Mikey tried to block the shot but missed the block and the shot landed. he got away with it vs Vargas but vs the bigger punches this could be a problem.

Garcia needs to stop being an idiot and go back down to 140.

I've no idea why hes fighting at a weight so obviously above his natural weight.

Hes a guy who could still make 135 at a push.

His biggest problem with his style, is that it’s geared towards fighting at mid range. He is deadly when given his range, but struggles if he has to shorten the distance himself.
If he were to face Crawford, he would need to work on his footwork to close distance without getting picked off. With pac, who is the same size as him, he wouldn’t need to close distance, he just needs to half step back and meet pacs advances with a straight right or an upper, since pac will be leaning in when he charges.
I’ve also taken into account pacs age and where he is likely to be when they meet.

Broner was putting it on Mikey? Are you kidding me? Mikey totally schooled Broner.

The scorecards were identical : both Pac and Mikey beat Broner with scores of 117-111, 116-112 x2. And that was arguably a better version of Broner who's better at lower weights, whereas Pac's been fighting at welter for years and had the advantage there. A lot more punches were landed in Mikey vs Broner but I thought that was an absolute masterclass by Mikey whereas Broner Pacquiao pretty much went as expected.

Now if you compare Pac vs Vargas to what happened tonight, there you have a better argument. Pac Vargas was a lot more one-sided than Mikey Vargas but styles make fights and Mikey isn't a volume puncher who just overwhelms fighters like Pac sometimes does. Also Vargas had a considerable size advantage vs Mikey. And Vargas was obviously a lot less cautious vs Mikey than he was vs Pacquiao.

Mikey was clowning Broner, when have you ever seen Mikey feel so safe he clowns his opponents?
Some people just make up their own version of events.

:nononoNot a snowballs chance in hell, how many left hooks did Jessie land on him in this fight? Now imagine that's Danny Garcia landing those.

It’s like you looked at the scorecards rather than watched the fight.

Broner was absolutely putting it on Mikey, specially last few rounds.

Broner basically said he didn’t want to go in on Pac cos he didn’t wanna get ktfo.

I watched both fights. Broner did land a couple of good shots on Mikey towards the end but these were brief moments of success for Broner.

There were more punches landed on each other than in Broner vs Pacqiuao, but I was just really impressed with Mikey's poise in there vs Broner and just his ring generalship. What impressed me was it wasn'g just flashy combinations getting in and out, with Mikey Garcia it was just all around technical superiority and that impressed me more.

Mikey was being pushed around, and his defense was basically to block. Broner was definitely putting it on him. Got him to the body and head. Many people were saying if he let his hands go earlier, he would have won.

Broner literally couldn't do **** to Pac, he said himself that it was a risk to open up too much. If he opened up, he got hurt, all he could do was survive and pop a counter here and there. Pac couldn't dominate the guy because he was basically running, its similar to the Mosley fight in a way.

Mikey is a very basic fighter. He has an iron chin with very good power, combined with perfected basic fundamentals, he does very well - but is very limited as Vargas has just shown. I mean Vargas is the king of losing close decisions lately, Dulorme, Broner.

To see what level a guy is at, look at who he is beating, and who the guys he beat is beating.

Broner=Vargas more or less. Mikey struggled with both. So its obvious Mikey is to Broner and Vargas as Thurman is to DSG and Porter - just a tiny bit above them and on another night, could lose to them.

Broner is very different than Vargas. Not only are their styles different, but Vargas is much bigger than Broner. Vargas could fight at 154 whereas Broner is basically a blown up 135-er.

Mikey didn't struggle with Broner whatsoever, it was an absolute schooling in every sense of the word, but he did indeed struggle with Vargas.
