Its not just a catch weight. Geale got destroyed mentally and physically in his last fight, but yeah Cotto looked good...

After forcing Australian boxer Daniel Geale to starve himself to make weight, WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto plans to go in the for the kill.

Geale and Cotto will step into the ring inside the 18,000-seat Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, on Saturday.

Cotto is the short-priced favorite to defend his title, but the aggressive Puerto Rican also has the most to lose with a pay-per-view mega fight with Mexican superstar Canelo Alvarez pencilled in later in the year.

"They're looking past me, which has given me extra motivation," Geale said.

"They're expecting me not to put up much of a challenge."

The 178cm tall Geale overcame a major hurdle on Friday when he made the 71.2kg catch weight Cotto's camp demanded when they negotiated the fight.

The pitbull-like Cotto only stand 170cm tall and came in light at 69.67kg.

The question is: how much of a toll did Geale's fasting take on him?

ESPN described Geale as looking "as dry as a potato chip" at the weigh-in and Cotto's trainer Freddie Roach was licking his lips at the prospect of taking advantage of the weakened Australian.

"For the first five rounds, we're going all body (attack)," Roach told ESPN.

"He seemed fragile and very, very thin."

Who cares. Cotto dominated and Geale was a blueprint Cotto victim. Just go with the flow man, instead of being difficult for the sake of standing out, in which case you're an attention *****.

At least Ward didn't demand or force Dawson to come down in weight.

Dawson wanted to do that to himself for whatever reason.

Lack of confidence and motivation was the factor in that fight see the fight again and you will see.

Well, Miguel is right.. he's not a MW.. he's a past prime SWW at this point.. and it's where he should really stay. He came into this catchweight fight at what.. 154? He came in as a SWW.

I don't want to see GGG destroy Cotto.. I got too much respect for the guy and what he's accomplished. I guess if Cotto wants the paycheck.. but I don't want to watch him get stopped by GGG. GGG is considerably bigger than Cotto... who I honest think could still make 147 if he wanted too.

No a catchweight, doping and a headbutt was the 3 factors leading to the loss.

Geale was the only one willing to agree to those outrageous terms, while getting little pay in return.

    :lol::rofl
To be fair Geale knew the weight issue and had time to adjust in camp. Geale screwed himself by packing on 20 pounds in 24 hours. Packing that quickly is just as bad as cutting:deal

Geale should have added maybe 10-14 pounds but no matter what Cotto was still going to drop him.

Great job from DIVA Cotto IMO:thumbsup

Do you know how much of a complete idiot you sound, spouting unsubstantiated horse-dung and junior-high level name-twisting ?

And I was rooting for Geale.

If you want issues, they're there without resorting to idiotic slander.

Namely, the 'champion' should NEVER be demanding a catch weight to defend his title. (It's bad enough when a challenger asks for a cw).

And there was the blatant head butt .

    But roods ?

Get your head out of your butt-hole, FFS !
