Both exciting fighters to watch. Both KO artists, both Puerto Rican.

Cotto, put Juanma against better competition and we'll see

Right now Cotto is in a better position he has a fight with Pac coming next and if he wins it would be huge and Juanma would have to do alot to top that.

I agree in terms of things he can achieve. IMO, he will be comfortable up to super feather- fighters that have the bonus of being able to perform well in multiple weight divisions are always gonna stick out. That said, as we all know, Cotto has taken on some monstrous names at 147 and, for me, he is the guy with better credentials at this point in time as he's actually been there and done it at the top level.

That is also a valid point. I'm not getting too caught up in the Juanma express- the bloke is extremely talented and I always watch him but he needs some tougher tests after tonight, IMO.

It's anybody's guess who'll wind up having the better career. If I had to bet on it, I'd say JuanMa Lopez.

Cotto has already achieved a considerable amount, and has shown tremendous grit.

Juanma is still lacking career defining bouts, he will get them soon i think, But at this point Cotto is the more proven of the two, And has the better credentials at top level.
Down the road things could change but to early to say for now.

It seems like folks are discussing who has accomplished more so far, but the thread is about which of these fighters will have accomplished the most before they're done. At this point, Cotto has done more, but if Juanma gets a win over a Marquez or maybe Vasquez if he comes back he'll be pretty close to overtaking his compatriot, and perhaps some will feel he will have already done so.
In the long run nobody really knows a damn thing about what will happen, flip a coin.
