Vanes said he's hoping to get big fights now he signed with Cameron Dunkin in his post fight interview.

With Mayweather facing Canelo, Cotto facing Bundrage, Ishe Smith v Carlos Molina and Baysangurov v Andrade in the coming months. There doesn't seem to be much out there for him at 154.

Trout's a Golden Boy fighter (I think), nobody cares much for a Lara rematch and Angulo will probably be on the shelf for a while.

    Maybe Vanes vs Delvin Rodriguez?

Does being managed by Dunkin even mean anything nowadays? :think

Whose career did he last significantly boost?

    Since, like, Pavlik?

Most of the guys whose names have been attached to his in recent years were already catapulting toward stardom before signing with him. Who actually needed him to get over?

I don't know. Vanes was a very predictable case of "not going to do **** with my career, given the opportunities and potential I will have."

Not really thinking about the promotional possibilities but I think it'd be doable; I'd like to see in order Vanes vs. Trout, Rosado, Delvin... uh, Mundine... shiiiiiit, thaw out Clottey maybe? Half joke... You just know Vanes isn't going to be apt to step up to the elites, GB runs 154 pretty much, he still hasn't really proven himself to be anything special enough to stay at a high level for too long, and he hasn't even established that great of a track record to bank that on. I really don't care for following Vanes' career, just throwing that out there. I'd love to be wrong and see him fight guys who are worth it.

He certainly would've been better off a Golden Boy (Like Mares would probably be better off moving to Top Rank now) if he wants the big fights

    30-27

Lopez needs to work the jab a bit more if he's going to do anything in boxing though.
