So I'm busting at the seems for weeks waiting for this fight on TV (American) First I read ESPN then its ESPN + now Spanish channel??? Can anyone PLEASE tell me what network in the United States this is taking place on.
I haven't much from him. I have seen him vs Vargs and Muira. Great fights. I like him. He reminds me of a Maidana/Miguel Acosta. Power in both hands with limited skills. He leaves himself open...alot. Let see if he can make some adjustments and make it up to the major leagues in the game.
I think hes alot better than your seeing. I think his game is pretty tight and well schooled. I feel hes an elite level fighter without a doubt.
I was at his fight against Miura. The crowd was expecting a war after seeing them both against Vargas, but Berchelt stayed sound, worked off the jab, and won a fairly uneventful affair. I've been busy, didn't know this bout was on. Thanks for the heads up.
I am a big Berchelt supporter and am excited to watch him again this weekend as well. I thought he deserved the Loma shot before Loma fought Linares. Berchelt reminds me of Chava at times.
Maybe now, thanks to ESPN+, a fight between Lomachenko and Berchelt might become possible, after all. Loma will not step down in weight for it, but they can negotiate some sort of weight limit for the day of fight (in the same way, as it was with Rigondeaux). It would be more than fair, considering that MB is actually even bigger than Loma.
Berchelt is like a mini Spence. There's nothing really special that you can pinpoint but the guy brings so much excitement to the ring and gives you(at least me) the feeling that, like Spence, he will be a special fighter.
