Matador vs Bull kind of match up. You have 2 great skillful fighters at Flyweight. Can Laciar give Canto a tough outing with his constant pressure or does Canto outbox Laciar to a decision? I think Laciar would be very competitive against Canto similar to his fights against Gilberto Roman.

Canto's jab would give him sufficient control to take a close, but clear decision, imo.

Their respective fights against Gonzalez are the obvious comparator to draw. Both did roughly equally as well, but Canto faced a better version of Betulio.

Classic needs way more of this kind of hypothetical match-up and lower proportions of the same regurgitated HW pairings.

    Bump.
Would have been interesting seeing these two fight sometime in 1981. That year Canto had avenged his loss to Gabriel Bernal while Laciar captured the title from Peter Mathebula. Would have been a nice clash of styles but ultimately I think Laciar would have been victorious against Canto around that time.
