A small diminutive fighter who was always outsized but he always found a way to outbox his opponents. A beautiful stylist who knew every trick in the book. I'm probably not the only one who misread that as Miguel Cotto at first. I'm not familiar with Canto but I did some brief research on youtube and wikipedia after stumbling across this thread; from what I saw he arrived at a beautiful fusion of the Mexican style and the sweet science. RIP.
Possibly the greatest pure technician caught on film imo. Required watching for anyone who loves master technique and ring iq. RIP Maestro.
For the modern fans who enjoy guys like Shakur Stevenson or Dmitry Bivol who were defensive specialists with great movement then Miguel Canto is someone that they would greatly appreciate. Canto exemplified the term "sweet science".
