Both fighters have just missed from possibly facing each other sometime around 1979 or 1980. Canto had beaten Antonio Avelar then ended up losing and drawing with Chan Hee Park in 1979. Around late 1979 Ibarra had beaten Beutlio Gonzalez to win the WBA Flyweight title but ended up losing by KO against Tae Shik Kim the following year.

I think it would have been an interesting match up between two boxing stylists. Ibarra was a fast southpaw who had beaten Gonzalez and Laciar in their hometown to win the title. I think he could have possibly have given Canto a tough fight had they fought.

Tough fight for Canto cause he doesn't have one punch power and consistent pressure style

By late 79/80 I think Ibarra has a decent chance.

Canto is a clear favourite, best for best, imo.
