Who do you favor in this intriguing match up? You have 2 great Flyweight boxers, one being the faster, quick footed defensive pure boxer and the other being the technically correct boxer/puncher. This is pretty much a Flyweight version of Willie Pep vs Alexis Arguello. I think this would be very similar to Canto's fight with Betulio Gonzalez where he won 2 close fights against Gonzalez, the question would be if Arbachkov could pose an even bigger problem and possibly knock Canto out.
Physically, Yuri is bad for Canto. Boxing wise, though, Canto can definitely exploit his measured, textbook style, being careful to avoid the power of Yuri, who could be lackadaisical and measure too much, with his brilliant footwork and IQ. I see Canto winning a 15 round decision.
I am not convinced, but my initial thought is I would pick Yuri over 12 to win a decision or possibly (not probably) stop canto late.
Yuri was too methodical for Canto IMO. I see Canto outclassing him. Yuri is just a tad bit overrated on this forum (not saying he wasn't quality).
I don’t know if I see enough comments or threads about Yuri to call him overrated, but I could see your outcome happening even though I have been the lone person picking Yuri. If no one else picks Yuri it might be hard to say he is overrated
To be fair I've done my share of giving Yuri Arbachakov high praises and making a couple threads about him, so in a way it probably is 'overrating' Arbachakov. I've always admired Arbachakov as a fighter but even I have to be realistic about his P4P and H2H ranking. Canto is clearly the greater fighter and an ATG but I think this could be a very close contest. Let's not forget that Canto is the smaller fighter but he is quicker and smarter. Either Canto outboxes Arbachakov to a decision or Arbachakov eventually finds his mark with his laser right hand to a stoppage.
