I've been watching a lot of Canto bouts again over the last few weeks and I'm so impressed every time I watch him - perfect balance and composure, near flawless technique with one of the most beautiful jabs you'll ever see. I was just curious to get all of your takes on him. How highly do you rank him at Flyweight and how well do you think he'd fare against the other all timers at 112 lbs? This content is protected ^ Here's the highlight that I made of him earlier this year. I tried my best to showcase all of his subtleties but one of the many things that made him so great was his ability to be so consistent over the course of a 15 round fight. Truly one of the all time best to me!
Canto is without a doubt Top 5 greatest Flyweight, Top 10 Mexican fighter of all time and perhaps one of the most skilled pure technicians in the lower weight class. Watching him box is like a painting with the way he uses the ring as his canvas. Your highlight videos really shows how awesome a fighter he was. Just poetry in motion and he lives up to his nickname El Maestro.
It's honestly astonishing how a fighter as small as him with a big size and power deficit still manage to be a dominant champion in arguably the best Flyweight era. Big fan of your channel by the way. Always looking forward to your new videos.
His fight with Kimio Furosawa is probably my favorite performance from Canto, aside from his fight against Avelar. Shows just how well he can fight in any range, including in the pocket. This content is protected
Brilliant fighter. Incredible number of defences over strong opposition for such a small Flyweight. Underrated p4p. He's 2nd only to Wilde all time at Flyweight, imo.
