Just wanted to know if you guys think Cotto could make a successful move up to 154 or 160 and dominate the opposition?:huh
Personally, I think he can win a belt at 154, but he wont dominate the division. 160??? I dont want to see him killed
154, sure. Terrible ****ing division, who is really going to cause him trouble? Forrest with his length and jab perhaps, but he's past his best and would struggle with Cotto's relentless style. Verno Phillips, who jobbed Spinks? He is way too short to compete at 160
lets not get carried away 147 is about the limit, the guy is only about 5'7" and the height and reach situation would start to become a factor just like it did with Mosely, especially against a Winky type who just jabs. I could see him getting outpointed on some bull**** decision. He could have some success at 154 but it would be from the benefit of careful matchmaking. keep the kid at 147.
At 160 he'd be half a foot shorter than the current champ. No f*in way! 154 is a weak division so he could be successful there - but even that would be a stretch if it was deeper. Remember how short Miguel is....
At 154 i think he will win a title and at the moment own the division. At 160 the guys up there are just waaaay to big for Miguel.
154 he could possibly dominate. 160 he would get killed just like every current 147 pounder in the top 15.
I dont think Cotto would be good at all in the MWD, but at 154 i think he could make some noise due to the lack of competition right now. But i dont think Cotto will ever move to 154lbs, it just doesnt make sense for him to fight out if his best weight, unless (like Floyd) he does it for historical reasons.
I don't think so (not 154 or 160), although in 154 if he fights Hoya, I'll say yes. Too short, still relentless enough to Ko a 154 bum.
If he cleans 147 and 154 I will have to put him up there as far a greatness, but he has to fight Floyd also.
hell be at 147 for a long time. . . he'll move up to 154 to wind down his career. Cant see him being a top player at 160.
