I've made a video looking at Puerto Rican legend Miguel Cotto. Its a look at 5 of his biggest wins. Do you agree with my choices. Any comments, likes and subscribing to my channel is very much appreciated. More 5 in 5s coming soon, if there is any fighters you would like me to cover let me know. This content is protected
Good video and I always appreciate the time an effort fans go to make these however, and this is just my opinion, I was completely underwhelmed by his win over Margarito. Yes it had personal significance, but marg was a one eyed shell, never looked hurt and was coming on. Just thought it was poor revenge. Would rate Cottos wins over Mosley and clottey higher
Thanksnfor the feedback and I certainly agree. I just put them in chronological order, I should have made that clear at the start as I agree it looks like I'm rating the wins based on how great they're as opposed to time order. Appreciate your view and comments. Thanks
The last Puerto Rican "Legend" is Felix Trinidad, Miguel Cotto was a well promoted solid-champion. Cotto was given the same level of favorable treatment as JCC Jr. & Canelo, luckily for Cotto is that Floyd Mayweather used all his PR resources to undermine the Margarito win, as it was a case of common interest between Cotto & Mayweather
Good picks. For me I might exclude Martinez for Ricardo Tores. As you said it pained you to include it LOL! Yeah Serge was past his best, but a decent notch on the belt. Tores was the fight he had to rise from the canvas & dig down deep. not until he moved UP-did he prove his point- That weight class was too much to make weight- he had to move up. And proved he had a decent set of whiskers....as a result the constant claim "Ricardo exposed this weak chinned sucker"....got reduced to a whisper. Otherwise great picks & editing.
I loved watching Trinidad too, I just got to give Miguel props he was around in a time when welterweight to middleweight was full of talent and he fought them all (or just about. I'd have loved to have seen the Marquez fight). And whilst not being the best of the era he gave everything, brought the action and was a pleasure to watch.
Appreciate your guys time with the feedback, the hardest part of making these videos isn't necessarily the time it takes to collate the clips, the editing or sound recording. Its picking which 5 fights to use. Especially with fighters with a brilliant resume. In my other 5s I have literally changed my mind mid edit! I love doing it though, you learn so much looking back at these greats. I've only made a handful but want to do a lot more. Looking at fighters in the history books that I don't know much about. If you have a few minutes spare and you want to see more then subscribe to my channel. A full time job, family and everything else makes time to create these limited but I'm averaging about 2 a week.
Win or lose Cotto gave me some great nights as a boxing fan. The drama of Marg 1, the redemption of Marg 2, razor thin decision over Mosley, competitive first 8 rounds with FMJ and an intriguing start eventually being overwhelmed by Pac-Man.
I feel you! I did a fury 5 in 5 on my channel and ended it with a prediction for Wilder 2 was a lot of fun to make!
If Sergio Martinez is coming back in 2020, would like to see him attempt to revenge losses vs Cotto & Margarito
