when i was in PR i was helping a sixty year old with his car. a conversation started about boxing and i told the guy i was going to knock cotto out. i thought it was interesting how pissed off the guy seemed after i said that to him. after that i got a better understanding how much boxing impacts PR.

Be honest, the sixty year old laid you out, didn't he?

Well Juanma is much more outgoing and charismatic than cotto.
As for tito, I think that tito just didn't like cotto too much, even papa trinidad talked a little smak when cotto was coming up, people asked cotto if he was ready to become the next tito, and he mostly replied "I'm not the next tito, I'm just Miguel cotto" Unlike Juanma who is always saying he'd love to be like tito and that Trinidad is his idol.

So your saying he casually injected you with horse tranquiliser and lazily wrestled you to the ground.

    In a laid back motion.

    Without the slightest of fuss.

Cotto is a bit reserved and its percieved as arrogance on the Island, had Cotto knocked out Margarito in Mosely fashion and kicked Pacs ass, he would be a National Hero who could then drink **** and be a total ******* yet still be held in awe, his behavior excused....such is the fickle finger of fame.

...everyone feels had it been Trinidad that night Margarito would have been carried out on a stretcher.....losing to a Mexican doesnt help either and until Cotto smashes Margarito he wont receive the adulation and total love a Trinidad or Gomez has in the hearts of Puerto Rican fans

I think thats unfair to miguel, he is just a more introvert type of person then trinidad walls, guy has huge balls and takes on everyone you csant expect him to beat them all, I hope he beats mayorga and after that redemption fight vs margarito, I definitely want to see that, maybe take on chavez jr in november.

its true that cotto is not loved or i believe will never be loved as much as tito is/was! On the island ppl love how tito won the huge fights like ODLH and vargas, and when cotto is mentioned for the most part is how he lost to marg and pac. cotto is well loved but not celebrated near as much. juanma himself is startin to already get more love, a win over gamboa will put him well over cotto in PR
