But because Paul Williams was black and didnt have a big fan base, they never even attempted to fight him.

You can point out that Margarito lost to a green Paul Williams, but Paul Williams called out Margarito (Who every dumb**** in the business was calling the best Welter) and Margarito instead chose what he thought would be an easy fight in Mosley.

Miguel Cotto who now even admits he's ducking Martinez. He knows Martinez would make his ass bleed like he does in all his fights.

It's a shame because Paul was a problem for anyone.....unfortunately he's no longer the same fighter that everyone ducked.....including Pac and Floyd. Chances are Pac and Floyd would have beaten Paul but it would've been interesting.

Not only that. Paul was calling out Margarito for a rematch, and Paul was actually the one who won the first fight. How the **** was Margarito, at the time, considered to be such a fearless warrior, yet he didn't want to avenge his loss?

    And Cotto...

Reporter: What about a potential fight with Paul Williams?
Cotto: Ummm... err... I will um... fight err... who my company... um... puts in err... front of me.

I remember people used to be infuriated with me for calling Margo the "Tijuana Chicken" and Cotto "Cotto the Cucaracha"

    Those were the days.

Floyd ducked him also. But he's black so you wouldn't mention him.

Why take a fight with some one you lost to when your gloves were loaded ?

Everyone at welterweight ducked Williams, thats why he had to move up. That said I never thought much of Williams, no defense and bad technique. His best performance was against Margarito when he atleast attempted to use the jab to keep an opponent at distance.

I think what he was referring to was the fact that any fighter who was Mexican or Puertorican that had the type of record Paul had, would have had an automatic following... It's just a fact.

Paul was ducked by everyone because he was high risk low reward, I hated how everyone avoided him but him going up and down in weight gave them an excuse, maybe he should have stayed at 147.

Paul had a very short shelf life as an elite level fighter....mentally he's done and he's fighting that way. It's been a tough road....one he hasnt dealt with well.. the business end of things are difficult for a lot of boxers.

Marg wasn't much in the position to try and "avenge his loss". He needed to maximize his money and take advantage of the best position he ever had in his career. He gave Williams a tough fight anyway.

I doubt Marg thought Mosley would be an easy fight anyway.

Cotto and Margarito have never personally ducked any fighter in their entire professional careers. Bob Arum, though? Different story.

Paul Williams is still a stylistic nightmare. He only really struggles with slick southpaws.

The only good southpaw he ever beat was Winky, who is most defintely not slick and was shot as well.

PW will give conventional fighters hell and he will continue to be ducked, especially now that his stock has taken a nosedive.
