Well, I don't know if it's so much him not dealing with it well, and him just being stright-up avoided by fighters in the WW division.

He was never a middleweight fighter. He only moved up because the WW wouldn't fight him. His fight against Quintana(2) he weighed in at 145 1/2.

That makes more sense..... Paul had a great style that was a balance of everything....he had skills, pop, stamina and great physical attributes .... He just never used his size, height and length advantages the way he probably should have.... Or at least have that in his back pocket as a wild card he could pull out whenever it was necessary. Paul was one of my favorite boxers.

He got merked by Sergio Martinez for one reason, and one reason only. Martinez is a better fighter.

I will always give Margo credit for fighting Paul even when Arum told him not to.

He gets props for that ****.

Cotto on the other hand, Paul has been calling him out since 2007. Everyone acts like Cotto is some warrior and ****, but Bob Arum wouldn't let Paul within 300 feet of that motha****a, let alone a boxing ring. Cotto knew it, but kept hiding behind the same "my company puts in front of me" bull****.

Paul was all offense and no defense. It was his undoing. His style was to throw so many punches no one could counter to avoid getting caught. Look at the Winky fight. Winky covered up most of the fight but landed a high percentage when he did punch.

    Wow!

If a thread is started by Michiganwarrior and the next poster is neckbreaking, I know it it would lead to nowhere.

Why don't you repost your thread about how gayweather is the best pressure fighter today so that we can all agree or how about let us form a committee to revise the very definition of "floored".

How about starting a thread about how clottey would be pac's murderer to being paid to fix the fight.

I really thought after losing to sergio williams could go to 154 and rule that division, but he didnt make any changes and seems less good nowadays unfortunately.

He can fight at MW or super WW but he's most effective at 147 where he can get away with a lot more fighting that style he has. He's not towering over the guys in the higher divisions and its easier to take punches at 147 than 160.

Paul Williams was scaring nobody with his performances over Antonio Margarito and Quintana. Let's be honest. Paul Williams has declined, and not because all the Welterweights were afraid of him, but because he left his chin out whilst in the ring with a supreme fighter in Sergio Martinez. He got knocked spark out. He was in the ring with the better man.

:oops::oops: I really thought Clottey had a chance.

But I don't think I ever made a thread about fixing the fight.

As long as his team keeps him away from slick southpaws, PW will be fine.

No conventional fighter or non-slick southpaw has ever beatn the Punisher.

I'd actually favor PW over either Cotto or Margo, conventional fighters with realtively basic offensive arsenals.

You're better than this, NBA. Not only did Martinez win the first fight according to a lot of people, including me, but he then rendered Williams completely unconscious with a single shot in the second round of their rematch. There is no unfinished business. It's over.

1-1 with Quintana.:think He had a totally different opinion about that one. And Quintana beat him more convincingly than the way Williams "beat" Martinez in the first fight.
