Why mention Cotto and Margarito, but not include Mayweather and Mosley?

Mayeather fought a 140lber and a 135lber in the period you are talking about.

Cotto, Margs and Mosley were atleast fighting each other and the other top welters.

Cotto's arsenal is not basic, hes an excellent textbook boxer with good power and a great jab.

    :huh

What does Martinez have to do with the FACT that Cotto was scared of facing him.

You aren't making sense babbling on about Martinez, when the only reason he even fought that high was because Cotto, Margarito, Shane, and Floyd refused to fight him... All because of money.

I understand the whole business side of it. But when everyone completely shuts out another fighter in the division, that is flat out wrong.

I mentioned both of them.... Mosely and mayweather.

But you're wrong about Cotto. How did Joshua Clottey deserve a shot at Cotto before Paul did?

If you honestly believe Miguel Cotto was afraid of Paul Williams then this conversation can no longer serve a purpose. Miguel Cotto is going to jump in the ring with Manny Pacquiao, but he quakes with fear whenever The Punisher is mentioned? Y'know, the guy Quintana handled.

I really never got the hype in pw. He was probably avoided because he was physically a freak of nature. But he does not exactly fight using those physical attributes. He loves to fight close quarters, no defense whatsoever, no head movement, and does not even have one punch ko power. He is not even fast, barely above average probably (arbitrary terms).

He is an accident waiting to happen, like an even cruder version of caballero.

Good Point. And out of those 4 only one is very well known for ducking!

Well, fighters should have learned by now that if you want a smoother career with much better prospects you should either roll with GBP or TR. Going with Dibella or Shaw is career suicide.

Not being with TR/GBP has defo hurt PWs career .

I still don't understand what the **** you're on about Martinez for?

It doesn't matter who you thought won the first fight.

We're talking about Cotto-cucaracha and the Tijuana Chicken.

    this.

I genuinely donet believe Cotto is afraid of anyone. He's still proving that today by fighting Margarito, a man who gave him a brutal beating the first time out.

Cotto would have just given Pwilly low blows to slow him down

Cotto ducked Paul, plain and simple.

And of course he fought Pac because the money was more than right for that one. He knew he was gonna get his ass whooped in that fight too.

This is why I have mentioned Sergio Martinez. He's the reason Paul Williams stock has dramatically decreased. It has nothing to do with him being supposedly forced out of the Welterweight division. It has nothing to do with him never being a Middleweight. It had absolutely everything to do with Sergio Martinez.
