Great Fighers, for sure. But these two have PPV events lined up for January of this year. And against nobodies. Pavlik is defending his WBC/WBO/RING belts against Marco Antonio Rubio, whoever that is, and Miguel Cotto is fighting for a vacant WBO belt against Superstar Michael Jennings, whoever the **** that is. My opinion is this. Not only will these fights not sell **** as far as PPV Sales, but the Promoters (Arum) wont want to release the PPV numbers out of embarrasment.

Why would Bob Arum think that America wants to pay to watch these non superfights. Both fights would have done well on VERSUS or perhaps Spike TV. Or even BDSSP. But PPV?

Had the Promoters, management and PPV companies had any brains at all, say with the Kelly Pavlik Fight. Put this on VERSUS and use it to build up Kelly's next defense against a much more well known opponent. Or on BDSSP Cotto could fight to build up the Margarito Rematch.

Who here is paying for these non PPV Caliber fights?

lol, no fighter deserves to be on ppv, big fights deserve a ppv, and it takes more than one good fighter to make a good fights.

He does, but he shouldn't be when he's facing someone like Michael Jennings. It's shocking that these fights are even considered for PPV.

No he doesnt, not unless he has an awesome opponent standing in front of him. Is Cotto-Margarito II a PPV event? Yes. Is Cotto-Trinidad a PPV Event at Middleweight? Yes. but the **** fight that is being sold next month is not PPV worthy.

That's not PPV worthy, have to agree here. Pavlik's opponent is his mandatory for the WBC, didn't HBO say they won't host that?, they're also taking him as a tune-up before fighting Abraham.

There are no real PPV fighters anymore, now that DLH is (hopefully) walking away from the ring. There are PPV fights for the larger general public, like Mayweather-Pacquiao or Mayweather-Hatton II, maybe (barely) a legitimate PPV fight in the US is Hatton-Pacquiao, but that's pretty much it. Maybe the steroid scandal would do good numbers for a Mosley-Hatton/Mayweather/Pacquiao fight, but come on...

Of course of PPV fighters I mean boxers the GENERAL PUBLIC is interested enough to order the PPV for $45-$55, not the hardcore fans, who are getting ripped off while they are and their money is the only reason HBO/TW is still putting money in boxing. This year only the Jones-Tito (barely) and the PacMan-DLH fight was able to get the general public's attention, every single other fight in the US, PPV or not PPV had only the hardcore fanbase watching.

Rubio is good, I dont know what your talking about. Cotto is fighting somebody that isnt that good but Jennings is number 2 by the WBO, so we might not know him but it is for a title. you can say the samething with Berto, but when a guy retires its vacant. Williams vacated the WBO title, so Cotto has to fight the number 2 contender. is there any more fights on there or no? I'm paying because Cotto and Pavilk is the ****. Rubio is good so I'm really ordering it to see that fight.

Jennings' WBO ranking is bull****...he's like 40th in the division.

They kept this guy on deck in that spot, so that when the time came to give the belt to whoever they want, all they have to do is put him in against Jennings.

It's BS...and the Cotto Queens are eating it up, when they should be outraged.

...Cotto deserves to fight an established elite WW for the title, or he should take a tune up.

He should not be fighting a tuneup for the vacant belt...that's wrong.

I don't pay for most of this crap anyway. You can always stream it or watch it for free the next day. I don't believe in ppv for a sporting event. It's ridiculous it even exists and that people buy it. I'm not being cheap either, I'd go broke if I paid for every ppv to come my way.
