Don't see why this is so hard to understand. Pay 800k step aside money and make close to $30 millions with a name fighter or don't pay step aside money and fight GGG to make a couple of millions. Which fight would you do?

But who is to say he wasn't going to fight GGG after Canelo if he wins?

Exactly and drop the whole "Ummm sure... I'll fight him, why not.." when he never had any intention to figth him. Well whatever, what's done is done now, but to act like he dropped it because he's trying to stop "greed" is just two faced.

This site is famous for talking on how scare fighters are to fight others fighters. Remember how Danny would never step in the ring with Lucas. Lol. If the money is right everything is possible

They're playing the PBC of taking early losses on big purse payments in exchange for building the brand and fighter recruitment. Problem is, PBC's got deeper pockets (and a much larger stable).

It's critical that this PPV is a success for Roc to make up for the recent losses they've incurred.

Cottos cowardice lmao you guys never cease to amaze me.....I'm quite sure the universe will be balanced once Ggg gets a chance to fight and most likely beat cotto correct. You'll probably shout from the mountain tops "I told you so" lmao

Btw I'm looking forward to a good s**** can't get to involved in the politics and needless bureaucracy that surrounds sanctioning fees as a fan I appreciate to top level fighters competing against each other in the ring and as a Ggg fan one should understand the promotional power of this fight and the money involved for both fighters especially cotto who's near the end of his career. I'm not going to lie it's completely annoying to hear Ggg fans beg for a shot at true s****om by roasting a former junior ww who grabbed a middleweight trinket for historical and financial purposes. I think Ggg should focus on challenging himself vs the super middles instead of these visions of glory vs cotto and Canelo hey that's just my 2 cents

I agree it's a pointless fight one that cotto will likely lose for obvious reasons

That's a funny thing from Cotto.
WBC allowed Cotto to fight Martinez despite the fact the he was nobody in middleweight division basically allowing him to earn more. They allowed him to do defence against Geale, they basically sancitoned his fight with Canelo with step away money to GGG.
Without all those things current match of Cotto vs Canelo wouldn't draw as much attention as it is now. It would be big but not that big. He gets huge purses and WBC played role in that.
But the greed has to stop...

No respect for Cotto under current circumstances. Also it is a deserved lesson for WBC.

Have to laugh at the clowns on here claiming Cotto is ducking GGG.

Fight Canelo for $30M or Golovkin for $5M ... Tough choice :D

Lol clearly the belt was a prime motivator however your losing my point here.....the politics the belts the fees takes away from the integrity of the sport I obviously am well aware of what's taking place but I refuse to cloud and or poison my love for the boxing by adding any value to a particular belt over true p4p fights.....Canelo vs Cotto makes sense Ggg vs Cotto is sort of a foregone conclusion regardless of the caliber of fighter cotto may or may not be, he has no business campaigning at middle weight much like Duran had no business fighting Hearns at middleweight

So basically you are claiming that he is not ducking Golovkin right? So who is a clown here?
Why not fight GGG instead of Geale and then fight Canelo? Especially in the light of him being stripped of the belt which I think was planned anyway by Cotto.
