If Canelo ducks, WBC will hand the belt to Golovkin. After that, if Lee is not immediately available, Cotto or Canelo can get GGG to see them in a non-title fight at 155 provided they show sufficient money.

If Alvarez beats Cotto, he will hold the lineal title and that carries more historical significance than any alphabet belt.

They are not stripping Canelo if he wins. You're delusional if you think a Mexican Organization like The WBC who wants a Mexican champ to have their belt will strip a Mexican star and cash cow in Canelo.:deal

That lineal "title" is already so much tainted by Cotto. It will worth nothing when held by a person saying that he is not a MW and refusing to defend it against the real champion.

What he meant is that lineal titles only exist in imagination of hardcore fans, and if somebody doesn't behave like a champion, we can strip him too.

I think you overrate your abilities. Just because you post on a boxing messageboard doesn't give you the power to strip the lineal title from Cotto. lol This site is hilarious.

Spinks only had the lineal title when he fought Tyson. The lineal only means nothing to you because your favorite boxer doesn't have it. To me, with all these alphabet sanctioning bodies and multiples titles in each weight class, the lineal title is the only one that means something.

Lineal titles are opiniated, without a real title there's no lineal title, to me it's only a supplement, that's it.

Lolololol ok ok let's make pretend you have educated me today and let's feed your subtle self righteous agenda by providing closure on the subject.....cotto is a bad man and should not complain about fees and should never have taken Sergio's belt and should have never kept it hostage from poor Ggg.

Now that we got that out the way......my point is strictly psychological and focuses mainly on the fact that wars are now more than ever fought on the negotiating table rather than the squared circle....it's seems your more interested in the arbitrary contractual decisions rather than the sport itself.
