I agree he does, but its flawed. He gets hit around his guard and up the middle too often.

that hunching over he does, he has too stop all together in the middle of the ring. he's not too old to make that adjustment. He has to leave that for when he has an opponent against the ropes. In the middle of the ring he's asking for trouble. Zab caught him consistently with lunging right uppercuts because of it.

 Starts at 3:10 Cintron is such a joke, Martinez KO's him and doesn't get it.

I agree, but the key word is adjustment. I never said he was to old to learn or improve, but rather to old to change his style.

I don't think he was hurt against Foreman, but he most def was hurt aganist Judah. Them uppercuts were killing him, but he held on. I love this guy.

Oh hell yeah, i mean he's a warrior. i made the thread not to get at Cotto, I love Cotto. I made it cause I wanted to see how the forum felt on it cause Martinez has shown some serious power even in the first Williams fight.

Martinez is too skilled for Cotto.

Yea. I think he has good footwork, actually very good footwork, but doesn't have the waist and head movement to go with it. Hopefully Steward is correcting that.

I will say this, if Martinez chooses to stand and trade with Cotto the way he did with Williams, Cotto will have a much easier night.

As TS posted, I think if he lands when Cotto's not expecting it and can't brace himself or roll with the punch lights may go out for him. I don't think Martinez is a huge puncher, but I also don't think Cotto has an iron chin. Clean, fast accurate punches that Cotto doesn't see will take their toll. Could be a TKO like Manny, but definitely can be a KO. Either way I see Cotto losing at either 154 or 160. Could easily be a UD win though.

Cotto would lose this fight. It would show his bravery taking this fight but it would end badly for him.

I'd be more worried about his skin than his chin. Snappy punchers, not necessarily the hardest ones, cut that well-worn skin right up.

Good point. If I remember correctly this same fighter carved up Pavliks face.

Cotto has been down a few times. Never in a way that puts his jaw in doubt. Lost against Tony and Manny due. to accumulation of punches, that should be more than enough evidence of a good chin.

I do think Cotto will lose. Not because Martinez is that great but because 2 reasons. #1. There is not reason for Cotto to be fighting above 147lbs. #2. Not training as hard as he should
