I can't beleive people would actually try to make a case for Clottey beating Cotto.....damn, I'd of never imagined this, 1 loss can really ruin your stock these days huh?

But regardless, y'all will see come fight night how ridiculous some of these comments are

Respect to Clottey, I like guy and all but....he's just in over his head

This fight is going to be all Cotto, he's coming back to prove himself and it's going to be at MSG, we all know what that means..... more puerto ricans means more energy for our hero

And you Cotto-freaks act like Clottey is just supposed to go along with the master plan. Of course Cotto has a real shot. I think this fight is about a 55/45 with Clottey having the best shot. I just don't see Cotto being tough enough. I think he will get caught, and I'm not sure he has the chin to withstand a few could uppercuts from Clottey.

I gotta say I favor Cotto in this fight but no way in hell would I take -325 Cotto. I think +250 Clottey is a steal because I view this as 60/40 Cotto.

I know this isn't a betting thread but Cotto has more heart than Clottey. Cotto took a real beating and didn't give up until he had nothing left. Clottey basically went into survival mode with Margarito after hurting his hand. He should have taken a page from Hearns and tried and get Margarito out of there isn't of doing just enough to not get KTFO.

Even then he still didn't give up, his corner threw in the towel. Plus Cotto has imporved almost ever aspect of his style, his hands and defense have improved tremendously and I think he's ready to get his title back

clottey's gonna say he broke his hand again. clottey hasn't faced a puncher like cotto. clottey strong, but he don't have cotto's punching power.

    :rofl:rofl

    Such BS.

He fights some bum (no disrespect meant) from England who is supposed to be served to him for breakfast and all of a sudden his improved every aspect of his game from the Margarito fight.

Please that was VINTAGE Cotto. And it was damn good for a lot of the fight.......... But that version of Cotto is ripe pickings for Clottey and his accurate counterpunches

I don't really think Cotto has improved, it's just that Margarito's style was all wrong for him. Cotto couldn't hurt Margarito and he took too many shots on top of having to move the entire fight, it took a lot out of him. He took a beatdown, but he also expended a lot of energy, and that is what I think really did him in.

Clottey doesn't fight like Margarito. He isn't a pressure fighter. He can't wait on Cotto if he is going to win. His turtleshell type defense will work against him because I think Cotto will just go to his body and wear him out over the course of the fight. Clottey doesn't have one punch KO power so I don't see him just landing one punch and ending the fight.

IMO Clottey will need to get Cotto's respect early if he is going to win. He will need to be more active and make Cotto move. He will need to jump all over Cotto and land his shots first and make Cotto back up.

I don't see Clottey fighting this way, which is way I see Cotto winning a UD, or maybe even a late stoppage.
