I see too many people not giving him credit for the wins he's gotten. The Clottey fight is a good example. He fights the fight with one eye the whole fight and still pulls out the win and everybody acts like that didn't matter. Than majority people insinuate that's he's shot because of it and not willing acknowledge that Clottey is a very good fighter.

I don't how many people in here boxed before but fighting a whole fight with one eye is very tuff. Even if the guy in front of you isn't the most skilled fighter. You try fighting a whole fight against a skilled fighter, with a very good defense and a rock solid body and chin and if you don't get knocked out, than your a special fighter.

Than I see people on this board not giving him any credit for the Mosley win. Even going as far as saying Mosley is old. Now he is up their in age in boxing terms but in the ring, you can't be serious and say he still isn't a great fighter. The man completely dominated Margarito with ease and Showed more speed than Collazo, who Berto had hell with. Cotto is in the same position Bernard Hopkins was in when everybody kept underestimating him all the time and people still didn't give him his credit later on even after his signature wins and after he beat Pavlik you could see the emotion on his face because of that.

The whole thing is, if Cotto was in a weak division everybody would be saying he's fighting nothing but bums and he's not that good. He's fighting the best guys and winning,(in the best division in boxing right now as we speak) and he still doesn't get credit. So basically for anybody who's not impressed, their have right to their opinion but the question would be, what would he have to do to impress you?

That's your opinion. The so called best welter loss to him, because he's the only one worth mentioning because he's considered the champ. I think if Cotto fights and beats Mayweather, or pacquao it'll refute your way of thinking. And I don't wanna hear he barely won if he beats them. Both of pac and Mayweather are in the primes of their careers.

I like Cotto a lot. At his best he is untouchable and hardly ever wastes a punch. In his last fight he showed great heart that cut was nasty and to change your gameplan around like he did and find a way to win is amazing. Any young fighters out there should look at the DVD or tape of the fight and watch how he went about the fight with that cut brilliant. Whoever he fights next I cant wait would love to see any of Manny or even Mayweather getting in with him next.

Because look at what else happened in the fight. Low blows, rabbit punch, body slam.

    No.

Hopkins had defense. Cotto lacks that. No one underestimates him.
In Cotto's 3 biggest fights. He's had two very close decisions that could of gone either way to a lot of people. And he lost the other one. That's why Cotto doesn't get the credit you think he does.

Cotto has yet to perform against the elite of 147 like he does at against the lesser of 147.

Again, that's your opinion. We don't know what's gonna happen in the next year and half or 2 yrs. from now.

You need to accept that people have different opinions, mate. He is one of my fave active fighters and IMO I think he's underrated as well. He's never ducked anyone and is a tough SOB. That said, because of the controversial loss to Margo (we'll never know if he cheated or not that night) and the close wins against Mosley and Clottey, people will keep doubting him.

He beat the 2 your talking about, whether you thought it was real close or not, a guy who beat oscar twice which was your boys best win.

And please don't bring up marg cause the whole world knows that bum ain't in Cotto's league and had to cheat to win. Even Clottey said it, he would know better than you, he fought them both.

Hey that's cool. But at the end of the day, he still beat them. And trust me, it wasn't no robbery like some people keep saying. Holyfield/Lewis was a robbery. Chavez.Whitiker was a robbery.

 Bringing up mayweather has nothing to do with anything.

Mosley is older and his best win in recent years is against Margarito, the same Margarito you just completely **** all over right now.

So if thats Mosleys best win and Margarito aint that great, you just made Cottos win look even worse. :patsch

Clottey said he didn't cheat against him.

Cotto at first was mad and has stated he doesn't believe he cheated against him.

So I guess Cotto knows better than you.

Plus, lets look at the facts.

Vegas issues you your own tape and gauze which California does not. The chances of him cheating are limited even more.

But go ahead believe what you want the facts are there.

He also said his faCE TOOK 2 WEEKS FOR THE SWELLING TO STOP, WHICH ISN'T NORMAL AT ALL. And he also said his team didn't check Marg for plaster. Cotto is humble and took the loss like a man, something Mayweather would never do and you know it. You can be denial all you want but I've seen you in this arguement plenty of times and posters like scar was telling you the samething, this is how I know your bias.

We'll see how great these fighters are when they matchup, and I know if he beats Mayweather, you'll never admit it, you'll have excuses.
